Venous stasis

December 17th 2009 20:37
Venous stasis refers to a situation where the veins in the legs are unable to take blood back to heart due to injuries caused to veins. It is a condition in which flow of blood in the veins becomes very slow, usually in the legs. Such a person will be more prone to blood clots due to long periods of immobility of blood flow.
Basically venous stasis means that the blood flow in the body is slowed down which could be due to hypercoagulability of blood that is blood is more viscous. This could lead to thrombosis (clots) anywhere in the body. Basically anticoagulants could be given. If the patient is on bed then bilateral stalking could be put. Venous stasis will cause swelling in the feet and legs. The most common solutions for this is rest, elevation and using compression stockings to help with blood flow.

December 11th 2009 20:00
Slipped Disc is the most painful disease younger generations are having. It is the common problem which is on the rise. This problem is caused when the soft cushion in the spine gets displaced, in turn causing back and neck pain extending to the legs and arms. The common approach to treat this is medication, physiotherapy, surgery and bed rest. Now a new treatment has been devised called as acu-cranio – a combination of acupressure and CranioSacral Therapy. This treatment lies in treating slipped disc without needles, instruments, medication and surgery.

People usually pinch the bridge of nose, may be it is a form of Accupressure or it's just a habit. The other reason for it might be to relieve or adjust pressure on the sinuses. Sinus pressure can cause headaches. Relieving that pressure can cause a 'sinus headache" to lessen in intensity. Pinching the nose also stops blood flow to a headache as well, stop the throbbing pain.
