• Fresh Oregano leaves are a good source of manganese, iron, vitamin A and omega-3 fatty acids. Regularly eating the fresh leaves can help boost the immune system.
• Thymol and carvacol compounds present in oregano are beneficial in aiding digestion and stomach upsets. Add two to three drops of oregano oil to a glass of water and drink it for quick relief.
• Oregano contains antioxidant properties that help prevent formation of free radicals in the body, which in turn lead to ageing of cells in the body.
• Oregano is known to relieve menstrual cramps.
• Severe cold, sinusitis and congestion can be treated using oregano oil.
