Pineapple is rich in vitamins and minerals. Its nutrients include calcium, potassium, fiber and vitamin C. In addition to this, it is low in fat and cholesterol. The benefits of pineapple can be achieved by eating fresh, canned or frozen pineapple or by drinking its juice. It also helps to build healthy bones. They are rich in manganese, a trace mineral that is needed for the body to build bone and connective tissues. Just one cup of juice provides 73 per cent of the daily recommended amount of manganese. This helps in growth of bones in young people and strengthening of bones in older people.
