Epistaxis

Epistaxis is the bleeding per nose seen in some of the patients with high blood pressure. It can be controlled by applying pressure over the nostril by using thumb and index finger for few minutes and by controlling high blood pressure. Whenever a patient suffers from epistaxis, always rule out local causes of nose problems and bleeding disorders. Most often, it is due to nasal pricking observed after prolonged exposure to sunlight.
