Everyone in this world wants to be perfect in their looks and body. To be perfect the unwanted body hair has definitely been a problem area. The desire to remove excess or dark hair usually begins in adolescence. With the emphasis on smooth, hairless skin, having excess hair is a taboo, especially for women.
There are two methods of removing unwanted hair both Temporary method and Permanent method. Hormones and genetics are major factors that are accountable for the amount of hair that you have. There are several ways in which you can remove hair DEPILATION ( removing part of the hair above the skins surface) and EPILATION ( removing the entire hair) .
Here are some of the Common methods to remove hairs :
· WAXING : It is the temporary, cheapest and most effective method of hair removal as it removes hairs from the roots. It usually takes about two to eight weeks for the hair to grow back. It often results in slower hair hair regrowth.You can opt for either hot or cold wax. Preferably one should have at least 1/8 inches of hair growth for waxing or there should
be a minimum gap of two weeks between each waxing seasons.
· SHAVING : Shaving or Trimming is a temporary method of hair removal which can be done manually or using electric shavers. Body shaving is more tender than facial shaving. Shaving needs to be done in the direction against hair growth. Lathering the body area with foam or gels prior to shaving is useful.
· TWEEZING : It is the temporary method which is sutable to the area that has less hair growth like the eyebrows. It grasps the hair shaft close to the skin removing hair from the root. It needs patience and time consuming.
· LASER TREATMENT : This is the permanent and the modern method to remove hairs. First, the skin is cleansed and unwanted hair removed. Then the Carbon based light absorbing lotion is massaged into the skin which, when passed over the skin, damages the follicle but leaves the skin unharmed. Depending upon the hair type, color and skin type the treated area is covered to prevent infection and shield it from sunlight during healing period. Laser hair removal should be done by dermatologist, cosmetic surgeon or qualified professionals only.
