Why do people pinch the bridge of their nose?

People usually pinch the bridge of nose, may be it is a form of Accupressure or it's just a habit. The other reason for it might be to relieve or adjust pressure on the sinuses. Sinus pressure can cause headaches. Relieving that pressure can cause a 'sinus headache" to lessen in intensity. Pinching the nose also stops blood flow to a headache as well, stop the throbbing pain.
